Shot analysis

This shot will be different in our final shoot as we will cut the shot at this point, to make the person run out of the shot. This will ensure that the next shot will run more smoothly.

There will be an establishing shot here to create parallel action and a relationship between the two scenes.

Throughout this clip there will be small clips from the torture scene to create suspense and tension.

In these scenes the light is very restricted so we will aim to be filming later on at night so we are able to control the levels of lighting and the direction it is coming from.

We will stop the pan at this point and have our actor running out the shot, this is so that the next shot fits in better and runs more smoothly.

Here we will have the actor walking back directly into the camera as a way of fading out of the scene.

Here the name of the film will be written in blood and will fade from black to visible hands. We will also try backing up to the window as a match on action of the previous shot.

Test filming and analysis

We produced a rough test of what we plan to do for our major project. This enabled us to understand what works and what doesn't work to insure that our final film is the best it can be.

We originally done some filming down troopers and then in the garage at our second location however after editing the clips we found that we would have to go back out and re-film some clips back at troopers.

Due to the lack of proper equipment this clip could be drastically improved by the simple use of a tripod and a better camera. However with what we had we can still understand what we will need to do during our final filming. We will be creating parallel action between the two scenes so will have to ensure that there is a clear relationship between them.

On the second scene in the garage we will be adding makeup and using proper lighting to get the effects we are looking for, we will also film at night to avoid any unwanted light getting in the way. This will make our final project much more effective, we will also dress the actor appropriately to ensure that he its the scene properly and makes the clip add to the horror effect.

When we are filming our chase scenes down troopers we will also film this when its starting to get dark this will act to the effect again, we will also ensure that the actress looks much more distressed however this wasn't our main priority in this clip we simply wanted to see how all the shots work well.

We concentrated on using different shots to make the chase scene seem different each time so the viewer doesn't get bored, it will also add to the panic of the situation. We included a high angle shot to make the viewer understand that the actor is venerable and in trouble. We also included a close up/mid shot of the runners feet to emphasise the panic and the fast movement of the legs and feet. Our final shot of the hands will be changed to a match on action of someone backing onto the window, we originally had a shot that would be a match on action of a trip however this would be very difficult to achieve and could drastically lower the quality of our project.

Location Pictures

We have gathered a group of pictures to illustrate where we will be filming our more gory scenes, we have chosen this location as we can access it very easily as it it one of the teams members garage. We feel that the location really give off a good feel for a horror film, the may that all the metal is rusted on the outside an how it is very old and full of cobwebs inside which you always associate with horror films. The window to the from of the garage works really well with out script as we want to do a bit of parallel action to join the both scenes and show the relevance for them both. We are planing to do our filming at night to gain the best feel for our film opening we have had a meeting with each other and said that it would be best to use man made lighting rather than natural as we will get a better effect as it is us who is directing the light.
